Imagine a world, where you can eat frozen yogurt, not feel guilty about it and save your waistline, all at the same time… Introducing the healthy frozen yogurt! Unlike its traditional, sugar-laced, artificial-flavor-enhanced counterpart, this healthy version of the well known favorite is absolutely healthy and super easy to make.
Healthy Frozen Yogurt Recipe
This recipe doesn’t call for an ice-cream machine and all you will need is a regular blender, an ice cube tray, a freezer and a little bit of patience – the yogurt needs to freeze for about 3 hours, so stop yourself from eating it before then, will present a challenge of its own. Once you have finished, the stage is all yours, add any (healthy) toppings you can think of! Alright, let’s get right into it:
Serves 1 (1P each)*
What you need:
- 1 cup Low Fat Greek Yogurt
- 1/2 cup Unsweetened Almond Milk (divided)
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract OR real vanilla bean
- 8 -10 drops liquid Stevia
What you do:
- Combine yogurt, 1/4 cup almond milk, vanilla and stevia in a mixing bowl.
- Whisk until combined and slightly frothy.
- Pour or spoon into an ice cube tray.
- Chill in the freezer for 3+ hours until frozen solid.
- Empty contents of the ice cube tray into a blender or a food processor.
- Add remaining almond milk as needed until the desired consistency is met.
- Scoop out into a bowl and enjoy!!
- You can firm it in the freezer for up to 30 minutes if desired.
Variations:
- Chocolate lover? Add 1tbsp of cocoa to the yogurt mix before freezing in the trays.
- Want to have 1P+1F*? Add 1tbsp natural nut butter to the blender before purreeing.
- Need a protein boost? Throw in half a scoop of your favoite protein powder.
